New Listing Alert!!

I’m so excited to announce our newest listing for Necktie Zipper Pouches, made from repurposed neckties!

The idea came from a customer who ordered a Necktie Memory Quilt and pillows, but wanted a little something made for a couple grandkids as well. She had the idea for a zipper pouch, which I LOVED! Zipper pouches are so handy and can be used for just about anything from holding school supplies to toiletries or (my personal favorite,) snacks! I came up with a simple, functional design that showcases the tie fabric while still retaining the pointed tip that makes it look like a necktie.

These pouches are made from 2 ties each. The exterior features the wide ends of each tie on either side, contrasted against fabric from the opposite tie. The inside is pieced from strips of the narrower ends of the ties, so one side is all fabric from one tie, and the other is all fabric from another tie.

After making the 2-tie pouches, I had another customer seeking to have gifts made for 6 grandchildren from the scraps we had used to make a bunch of Necktie Memory Pillows. We had already used the wider ends of all the ties, but still had a good amount of the narrow middle section leftover. So I came up with a stripey version of the pouches! For these, I sewed the strips of neckties together to make a stripey fabric. I pointed the ends of each strip to help them still look like ties. This version was lined with a solid color cotton since we needed so many pouches and were limited with what tie fabric we had leftover. I LOVE the way they turned out!

This striped design is a great add on to a Necktie Memory Quilt, especially if you’re limited in how many ties you can send, since they can be made entirely with the leftover tie fabric! I’m all about using every last scrap and leaving less waste!
