Hey ya'll! It's time for Mister Domestic's Playroom Project Party to celebrate his most recent fabric collection: Playroom! This is definitely one of my favorite collections EVER. The sweet, playful nature of it really evokes the spirit of childhood. And as a hashtag girl mom, I immediately wanted to make all the things out of it.

It may seem way too simple, but the first thing I knew I wanted to make with Playroom was a set of lunchbox napkins for my big girl. I'm a firm believer in living a less waste lifestyle - we make small changes here and there to reduce the waste we make. One of the biggest ways we do that is using cloth napkins as much as possible, including in packed lunches. That led me to my next idea - a lunchbox for my big girl.

I've made cloth napkins before myself from scraps leftover from other projects, but tbh I usually just buy them from one of my fave local businesses, Dot & Army. She's a much better serger than me. But I've been craving a set in some great "kid" prints, and Playroom is perfect for that! I especially love the Playroom Rules pattern as a napkin. In my head, my girl reads all the positive messages on the fabric while she's eating and it makes her have a better day.

The lunchbox I made using Mister Domestic's lunchbox tutorial and video, but I adapted the measurements to accomodate my kid's bento box. For the inside, I opted to serge the raw edges, thinking that it would make for a neat finish. It doesn't look the greatest, but it'll do. Binding the edges would have been better, but honestly I just didn't feel like doing it. sorrynotsorry. I did add a little pocket to the inside top for tucking in sweet notes to my girl. <3

Around the time I was putting together my lunchbox, I was starting back to work after maternity leave, meaning my baby girl was going to be spending a few days with her Granny. After the first day of trying to pack up all her bottles, I realized she needed a "lunchbox" too. So she got one!

This bottle tote bag is just big enough to accomodate an ice pack and 4 of her glass bottles. They pack in nice and snug so the glass isn't clanging all around. I also made a little quilted paci pod with some leftover scrap circles and a zipper. I intentionally positioned the "Thank You" facing out on the binding tag as a sentiment to my sweet Mother-in-Law who so graciously keeps my sweet little one.

Aaaand then I still had a few pieces of fabric left so I also made some little bandana bibs. Besides being adorably fashionable, they'll be great for when she starts drooling everywhere.

So those are my projects! They're nothing big or elaborate, but they are super functional! My big girl is SO EXCITED about her new lunchbox! I've been making her keep her grubby little hands off of it until I made sure I had good enough photos of it, so I guess I'll let her have it now.

I'm honored to be a part of Mister Domestic's group of Master Makers, and I CAN'T WAIT to see his next collection! Since you've read this far, I'll treat you to a photo with my cuties in it. Enjoy!
